Roadmap
Compass starts with the Diátaxis rule and the TypeSafe provider. The provider and rule design leaves room for much more. These ideas are not implemented yet. Feedback on GitHub helps decide what comes next.
More rules
Section titled “More rules”- Frontmatter of other plugins. Suggest tags for
starlight-tagsfrom its allowed tags, check the topic of pages forstarlight-sidebar-topics, or review blog post metadata forstarlight-blog. - Sidebar placement. Report pages that sit in a sidebar group they don’t belong to.
- Quality scores. Rate pages against rubrics like “states its prerequisites” or “has a runnable example”.
- Duplicates. Find pages covering the same topic that should be merged or cross-linked.
More providers
Section titled “More providers”Any model that answers typed questions with probabilities can become a provider, including large language models with structured output as a fallback.
For readers
Section titled “For readers”- Documentation type badges telling readers upfront what kind of page they are on.
- Ask the docs without hallucinations. Readers type a question, and a model picks the best matching pages from a search shortlist, returning links rather than generated answers, and saying so when the docs have no answer.
- Feedback triage that classifies free-text feedback into typos, bugs, missing information or confusing content.
